As a Suitability Assessor, you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role responsible for conducting fair, consistent, and evidence-based assessments ensuring that only applicants who meet the required standards are recommended to become Postmasters.

You will be working closely with prospective Postmasters by conducting suitability assessments using the approved framework, ensuring all questions are asked consistently and all competency areas are fully explored. Evaluating applicant responses based on demonstrable evidence, you will use defined scoring criteria and “what good looks like” guidance to ensure consistency and objectivity.

Producing clear, evidence-based recommendations on suitability will be crucial as you ensure decisions are robust, justified and aligned to defined and unbiased thresholds. How our people behave is as important to Post Office, as what is delivered. The Suitability Assessor will role model the Post Office behaviours and demonstrate a Postmaster first mindset.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record of strong relationship building skills and experience conducting interviews. As a Suitability Assessor you will have strong analytical judgement and the ability to apply fair, consistent, and evidence-based decision-making, ensuring objectivity and avoiding bias. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft packages
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and written skills
  • Flexibility for some travel when required
