What to expect

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role as a key member of the Management Reporting & Accounting team. You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of functional objectives, always modelling the Post Office behaviours, and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset. The Assistant Management Accountant will support with providing the business unit teams with excellent, relevant and timely management reporting and accounting services. These services will primarily be focused on period end and will help the business unit finance teams to understand, analyse and evaluate income and costs. What you’ll need to succeed

Qualifications

AAT (or equivalent) qualified / part qualified.

Experience

  • Proven experience collaborating with peers, colleagues, and stakeholders to contribute to the delivery of functional strategy to achieve business objectives.
  • Applied expertise across relevant tools, systems, and procedures, to achieve business results, whilst demonstrating drive towards continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrable experience of completing assignments to a high quality to achieve objectives and key results.
  • Experience of period end, including calculating and preparing accruals & prepayments, and supporting with balance sheet reconciliations and investigating differences.
  • Experience in analysing datasets and producing reports and dashboards for management.
  • Good understanding of POL finance systems.

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively and network across Post Office to build connections.
  • A true problem solver with the ability to make decisions and solve common problems whilst knowing when to escalate complex issues that may impact delivery.
