As a Technical Product Owner, you will lead the product delivery roadmap for the Payzone channel. Payzone Business Payments Ltd is a UK-based technology and payment services provider specialising in over-the-counter bill payment solutions, secure transaction processing, and retail payment services.
Operating under the wider Post Office umbrella, the Payzone channel supports thousands of independent retailers by providing payment terminals and services. These enable customers to pay utility bills, top up mobile phones, purchase transport tickets, and carry out other essential transactions conveniently within local stores.
This is a highly competitive and dynamic market, with our retail network comprising approximately 13,000 outlets and representing a significant market share. To maintain and strengthen our position, continuous evolution, modernisation, and optimisation of our products are essential. What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or similar role in technology transformation programs.
- Demonstratable experience in defining and implementing best practice Agile ways of working and transitioning legacy teams into these structures.
- Ideally experience in one or more of the following technologies: Zorrin, Heroku, Remedy, IBM Infomix, and Microsoft Azure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to design, plan and facilitate effectively workshops both with the Scrum team and other stakeholders.
- Happy to be hands-on, and confident in writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Extensive experience of working in an Agile environment with a focus on fast-paced delivery.
- Significant experience in acting in a product ownership role (5 years+), with a proven background working with agile development squads.
- Experience of working in Scrum teams using best practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; OR equivalent professional experience.
- Scrum or SAFe or equivalent Product Owner qualification.
