As a Management Accountant you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role reporting to the Head of FP&A. The Management Accountant is a key member of the Management Reporting & Accounting team, responsible for contributing to the delivery of functional objectives, modelling the Post Office behaviours, and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset. The Management Accountant will provide the business unit teams with excellent, relevant and timely management reporting and accounting services primarily focused on period end. This helps the business function finance teams to understand, analyse and evaluate income and costs, while also developing and improving accounting discipline and management reporting through finance systems. The role embodies a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement and high performance with a key focus on delivery.

What you’ll need to succeed:
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified / part qualified.
- Proven experience collaborating with peers, colleagues and stakeholders to deliver functional strategy and achieve business objectives.
- Experience establishing successful, cross‑functional stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrable experience leading delivery of project milestones.
- Experience producing management accounts, including calculating and preparing accruals & prepayments, producing balance sheet reconciliations and performing effective variance analysis.
- Experience analysing large datasets and producing reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Great understanding of POL finance systems.
- Experience working in an environment with strong financial control requirements.

- Ability to assess and critique business changes and new accounting requirements, incorporating changes into reporting and accounting processes.
