As a Lead Finance Partner - Retail Network, you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering. The Lead Finance Partner - Retail Network is a key member of the Finance Business Partnering team, responsible for the delivery of functional strategies, always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset. The Lead Finance Partner - Retail Network will partner their respective business area for all aspects of Commercial Finance activities including cost modelling, business case financials, management accounts and forecasting. The role will be the point of contact for the Business units they support, providing honest challenge and support to deliver the Annual Business Plan and Transformation Plan. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance across their teams, delivery and decision-making.

What you’ll need to succeed:
Qualifications: CIMA/ACA/ACCA/Equivalent Finance Qualification
Experience:
- Experienced People Manager with proven experience collaborating with peers and senior managers, to contribute to the development of, and deliver, a functional strategy to achieve business objectives.
- Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross-functional, stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to achieve key objectives.
- Experience in working with accounting, reporting and forecasting systems (or equivalent) and in a business model that includes ‘Shared Services’ support.
- Experience in building robust business partnering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Clear experience of owning and managing workload and deadlines, with clear communication skills to manage and prioritise workloads and deadlines.
- Experience of balancing using financial analysis to shape decisions and provide assurance.
- Experience of supporting organisations through negotiations, pricing analysis, remuneration models, incentive schemes, investment cases and commercial proposals.
- Experience of multi-site organisations or retail/wholesale would be desirable.

- Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact, and drive a successful outcome.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for functional plans and activity.
- Acts as an expert advisor, applying advanced knowledge of their own specialism as well as broad knowledge of related areas.
- Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding the values and principles of Post Office.
- A track record of actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within all areas of responsibility and in particularly in the Finance function.
- Strong Excel modelling skills, ideally with Power BI capability.
- Strong sense of urgency to get things done.
- Holding others accountable and challenging with diplomacy.
- High level of ‘can do’ energy, able to manage within an environment of complexity, ambiguity and change.
- Ability to inspire cross functional working.
