The Head of Risk & Governance is responsible for establishing and leading an effective risk management and governance framework across Post Office Insurance (POI). This includes Enterprise Risk Management, Controls Oversight, Product Governance, Compliance Approvals, GRC tooling, and Policy Governance. The role ensures that POI meets regulatory expectations, embeds sound risk culture, and delivers good customer outcomes in line with Consumer Duty.
The Head of Risk & Governance is required to proactively participate in the development and delivery of functional strategy and commercial objectives, always modelling appropriate leadership behaviours and demonstrating a customer first mindset. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate significant senior leadership experience within risk management, governance, and compliance. In addition to this you will have:
- Strong experience within Financial Services, ideally Insurance.
- Demonstrated success improving control environments and governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of FCA frameworks including Consumer Duty.
- Experience in product governance and oversight of regulated insurance propositions.
- Ideally proven experience implementing or managing GRC systems.
- Relevant professional qualifications preferred (IRM, ICA, CII, etc.).
