As a LEET Investigation Specialist, you will join us on our journey and undertake an influential role by conducting the highest risk, most complex, or sensitive fact-finding, conduct and criminal investigations with oversight from the Senior Investigation Manager, Law Enforcement Engagement Team. Stakeholder management is key to this role, managing the relationship on a case-by-case basis between POL teams, senior managers, Senior Executive Group, and Board as well as external partners including the police and public prosecutors. This role is key in managing the relationship between POL and law enforcement to facilitate the identification, collection, and passing of evidence relating to possible criminal investigations. This role acts as a link between POL and senior law enforcement and prosecutors.

To be successful in this role, you will need extensive investigation experience in law enforcement, or another public service body performing similar functions, with experience of financial crime investigation and national or international representational experience:

  • Experience of investigating to a criminal standard (with connected evidence collection) allegations of theft, fraud, robbery, burglary, and money laundering;
  • Experience of analysing material to identify process failings, to identify root causes, and to detail lessons learned.
  • Experience of complex report writing and presentation of findings/evidence to senior staff.
  • Significant experience of giving evidence at Crown Court.
  • Significant experience of complex investigative planning, evidence review strategies, use of technology assisted review, interviewing of witnesses, victims and suspects, working with external counsel.
  • Experience of collaborative working with other agencies, demonstrating understanding of other organisations’ requirements and needs whilst maintaining an objective and nuanced POL position; demonstrable experience in influencing other agencies based on sometimes complex fact patterns or background;
  • Experience of working with colleagues at all levels of an organisation, effectively interacting with the most junior to most senior colleagues.
