What to expect

Within the new Mails, Parcels & Payments team the Head of Carrier Partnerships will be responsible for leading Post Office’s relationships with our diverse portfolio of parcel carriers and locker partners including Evri, DPD and Royal Mail. They will own the commercial agreements, account management and service delivery for our partner portfolio and be accountable for the day-to-day commercial performance of partners. Tasked with growing the volume delivered by the portfolio of partners over time, they will lead, develop and inspire a high performing team as well as oversee commercial terms and pricing, and partner with relevant stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in service and customer experience.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need to have extensive Senior Management experience in Parcels, Carrier Management, Postal, Logistics or eCommerce shipping roles, with a strong Carrier background. In addition you will possess:

  • Significant experience within Partnership management, particularly within B2B sales
  • Established relationships with senior decision makers across key marketplaces, retailers or platforms, and credibility as an industry expert
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, pricing structures, incentives and risk sharing arrangements with carriers
  • Strong track record of securing, growing and renewing high value carrier contracts and joint business plans
  • An understanding of data privacy laws, governance, risk, and budget management
  • Advanced influencing and communication skills; using a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact and drive a successful outcome
  • Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions
  • Proven record of effectively influencing senior leaders around partnership strategies, propositions and trade offs
  • Experience managing multi million pound commercial portfolios and delivering against stretching financial targets
