What to expect

As a Corporate Affairs Engagement & Inclusion Specialist, you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role responsible for reporting to the Head of Postmaster & Colleague Communications manager. The Engagement & Inclusion specialist is a key member of the Corporate Affairs team, responsible for delivering engagement strategies that foster transparency, inclusive participation, and consensus across Post Office’s network of Postmasters and corporate partners. Acting as an expert advisor, the role applies advanced knowledge of stakeholder engagement and digital-first communications, as well as a broad understanding of Post Office transformation priorities. The Engagement & Inclusion specialist will lead Postmaster and Partner engagement and representation, creating the right forum to ensure their voice is represented at every level of the organisation. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance, delivering engagement plans for complex programmes and advising senior leaders on effective strategies to build confidence in the transformation plan.

What you’ll need to succeed

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience collaborating with peers and senior managers, to contribute to the development of, and deliver, a functional strategy to achieve business objectives
  • Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross-functional, stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to achieve key objectives.
  • Experienced in membership organisations, engagement, or stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality engagement strategies and activities such as forums, conferences, videos, and written communications.
  • Strong understanding of business practices and ability to operate within a complex, multistakeholder environment.
  • Crisis management experience advantageous.
  • Degree-level qualification preferable but not essential.

  • Awareness of commercial imperatives in a Limited Company environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality engagement strategies and activities such as forums, conferences, videos, and written communications.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and unite diverse audiences around shared goals.
  • An enabler who can speak with knowledge and confidence in their subject matter, guiding their team to success.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact, and drive a successful outcome.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for functional plans and activity.
