Location Description: Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks on incoming raw eggs and finished products.
- Conduct hourly checks and monitor product quality.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
- Monitor machines to ensure they are running efficiently, within range for temperatures, speed, and tank levels, with no leaks and full of eggs.
- Make minor adjustments to equipment and troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Communicate machine or product issues to production management and/or maintenance.
- Ensure packaging material is kept separated, neat, stored properly, and labeled correctly.
- Operate forklift and pallet jack.
- Keep area and equipment clean using sanitation procedures.
- Complete die, printer, and Bergmier counter changeovers.
- Perform Acetic acid bath temperature, chemical, and Vortexx checks.
- Check CO2 and O2 levels on product bags.
- Assist with Fallas operations, dicer operator tasks, and pulling samples and records for skids.
- Accurately program, track, and report Data Trace readings per HACCP requirements.
- Understand cross-contamination and mitigation steps for the area, all grades of eggs, Biolonix operations, and Yamato scale system.
- Provide breaks to line employees.
- Communicate effectively with operators to control egg flows.
- Mix brine solution per specification and coating paint.
- Follow and perform wax filling procedures.
- Perform manual packaging, sanitizer chemical checks, belt sprayer checks, hand dip checks, and properly report issues.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained.
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
- Experience with egg processing and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of HACCP guidelines and SOPs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Effective oral and written communication skills. Bilingual a plus.
- Work independently, prioritize duties and display responsible behavior at work.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack operator’s license.
- Must be safety minded.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Capability of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
- Must demonstrate open and honest communication.
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
- Can adapt to change.
