We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly organised and motivated Service Coordinator to join their Service Division. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a team of Field Service Engineers, coordinating planned maintenance visits, breakdown repairs and customer communication across an assigned geographical area. This is a key role within the service team, helping to keep engineers organised, customers updated and service work running smoothly from start to finish. The Role As Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and managing the day to day schedules of Field Service Engineers, ensuring jobs are booked efficiently, urgent calls are prioritised and customers are kept informed throughout the process. You will act as a central point of contact between customers, engineers, the Service Manager and internal departments, making sure service work is completed professionally and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Service Scheduling • Plan, schedule and coordinate service appointments for garage equipment repairs, planned maintenance and breakdown visits. • Manage the daily schedules of Field Service Engineers to optimise productivity and minimise downtime. • Prioritise urgent service calls and allocate work effectively. • Communicate with customers regarding appointment times, delays, changes and updates. • Monitor ongoing jobs and ensure engineers have the information they need to complete work efficiently. Customer Communication • Act as the main point of contact for customers within your assigned geographical area. • Provide timely updates on service requests, engineer attendance and job progress. • Handle customer queries, complaints and issues in a professional manner. • Escalate more complex issues to the Service Manager when required. • Follow up after service completion to help ensure customer satisfaction. Team Collaboration • Work closely with the Service Manager to support smooth service operations. • Liaise with other internal departments to ensure customers receive a joined up service. • Provide regular updates on engineer availability, service schedules and ongoing issues. • Support the wider service team with administrative tasks where required. Required Experience and Capabilities • Previous experience as a Service Advisor or Workshop Controller within a large car dealership would be advantageous. • Experience coordinating engineers, technicians or field based teams would also be beneficial. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • A positive outlook with a strong focus on customer service. • A clear focus on doing things properly and getting work completed right first time. • The ability to think on your feet and resolve problems quickly. • A great work ethic and a proactive approach to work. • Confidence dealing with customers, engineers and internal teams.
