Part time hours/shifts - flexibility required, day time hours, evenings, weekends and occasional night shifts.
We are looking for a rehabilitation support worker to come and support our cheeky, charismatic young female client. A sense of humour is a must for this very sociable young girl. We are looking for someone who knows how to have fun and play; singing and dancing is a must so be prepared to get your dancing shoes on and your best singing voice at the ready!
You will be helping the family in supporting and caring for their 11‑year‑old daughter who has a brain injury. This role involves supporting the client with their personal care, daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well‑being. You will work alongside the family and closely with a great team of therapists who provide the highest standards of care and support. You will be expected to follow therapy guidance to maximise our client's potential and independence. It is important that you are sensitive to the needs and boundaries of the family and are able to support the child’s parent when it comes to maintaining their structure and values.
Hours will be offered via a permanent contract and an excellent rate of pay is offered. Experience of working with young people or children with additional needs is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist with medication administration and attend health appointments as required.
- Encourage and support to engage in community, social, and recreational activities.
- Promote independence and support in developing life skills.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of care provided.
- Follow individual care and support plans and report any changes or concerns to supervisors.
- Uphold dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.
Person Specification
Essential
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (also covering annual leave etc).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills for recording and reporting.
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.
- Right to work in the UK (unfortunately we do not offer sponsorship).
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel outside of local area with client and family – both in the UK and abroad for holidays.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a care or support role.
- Previous experience of working with young children with additional needs.
- Level 2 or above qualification in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
- First Aid and Manual Handling training.
- Knowledge of person‑centred care approaches.
- Understanding of specific needs (e.g. epilepsy, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy).
- Multilingual skills or cultural awareness.
