We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join a newly opened specialist secondary school supporting young people aged 11-16 with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, often associated with Autism, based in Chaldon.
The Role
You will ensure the school site, grounds, and equipment are maintained to a high standard, supporting a safe and functional learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your work will help safeguard health, safety, and general wellbeing across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance tasks efficiently and proactively
- Respond to maintenance requests using online ticketing software
- Assist with movement and installation of furniture and equipment
- Maintain and check vehicles, including mileage logs and usage registers
- Ensure safe storage of tools, equipment, materials, and keys
- Assist with regular inspections of building services, utilities, and fabric
- Carry out minor repairs, including carpentry, painting/decorating, and furniture fixes
