Actual Annual Salary: £24,139.67 - £25,819.26 actual salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Plus £1000 Welcome bonus.
Salary: £13.51 - £14.45 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm, Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm.
We are currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a brand new specialist school in Chaldon, Surrey supporting students aged 11-16 with Autism and associated behavioural and communication difficulties.
The role:
As Teaching Assistant, your role is to support our children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.
Key Duties:
- To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
- To promote and encourage independence and personal development.
- Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class.
- To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
- Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
- To promote pupils cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
Experience / Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Level 3 / Grade C or equivalent is essential.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
- Team TEACH Training - desirable.
