Full time 37 hours. Typical shift patterns: 10am - 10pm, sleep-in followed by a 7am - 11am.
We are looking for a Residential Childcare Practitioner to join our 4 bed home in Reading. We welcome applications from both qualified, experienced childcare workers and unqualified individuals who would like a change in direction. We are proud to have achieved an outstanding Ofsted rating for the past two consecutive years and are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring individuals to join our team.
The role includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and regular sleep-in duties (1-2 per week), with an additional allowance of £50 per sleep-in. This role can be challenging, with difficult days and stressful moments, but it is also incredibly rewarding. Roles and responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, health needs, administering medication, and developing independence and life skills.
- Build positive, trusting relationships through consistent care and positive role modelling, helping young people make safe and constructive choices.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times, recognising and responding appropriately to any concerns.
