Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst for our client, a local government organisation based in Wembley.

The successful post holder will support the delivery of the Digital Transformation Programme through implementation of a range of analysis and solution design activities, spanning a wide range of services.

This role carries a broad range of responsibilities, including researching and analysing statistical data; customer journey mapping, designing and documenting work-streams and process flows; compiling trends, performance reports and analyses; developing business-focused solutions and consolidating customer insight.

This role will support an ambitious schedule of workshops and take responsibility for producing all workshop outputs to a high standard, including minutes, actions, ideas and recommendations.

The role will analyse workshop outputs to produce business requirements and record risks, issues and actions for use by the programme.

Working with the Digital Transformation Team and service areas, the successful post holder will convert workshop notes, sketches and process maps into user stories to support service redesign and digital transformation.

It is essential that candidates have gov Service/Firmstep experience. Candidates without proven Firmstep experience will not be considered.

This role is a temporary contract with an initial contract length of 3 months with the possibility to extend.

This role is hybrid working with 2–3 days in the office required each week.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to

  • Gather and analyse business requirements through interviews, workshops, document reviews, surveys, site visits, business process analysis and workflow mapping.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience through customer journey mapping, resident engagement and service redesign activities.
  • Analyse statistical and performance data to identify business issues, root causes and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Research and benchmark against other organisations to identify best practice and innovative approaches to service delivery.
  • Evaluate and interpret complex information to support transformation initiatives and evidence-based decision making.
  • Produce high-quality reports, business analysis documentation and statistical analyses to support programme objectives.
  • Support the development, design and implementation of service transformation and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide advice and guidance to project managers and workstream leads on business analysis and data-related matters.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand business needs, define functional requirements and develop effective business solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to support successful project delivery and organisational change.
  • Support workshops by producing accurate minutes, capturing actions, recording risks and issues, and documenting recommendations.
  • Translate workshop outputs, process maps and business requirements into user stories for digital solutions using gov Service/Firmstep.
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritising workload to meet programme deadlines.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with organisational policies relating to customer care, equality, safeguarding, information governance, data protection, health and safety and environmental sustainability.
  • Contribute to the organisation's wider digital transformation objectives and undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.

Personal Requirements

Proven experience using gov Service/Firmstep is essential.

  • Knowledge of current business analysis methodologies, standards and best practice.
  • Understanding of local government, public sector transformation and current policy issues.
  • Knowledge of service redesign, business improvement and transformation methodologies.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing, analysing and mapping business processes using a variety of techniques.
  • Experience analysing systems and technologies to improve customer-focused services and business processes.
  • Experience supporting organisational transformation and cultural change within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, interpret and evaluate complex data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical business solutions.

Working Hours

36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Pay

Β£33.67 per hour. Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
