Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Waste Contract Manager for our client, a local government organisation based in Wiltshire. The successful post holder will lead and manage the delivery of waste treatment, disposal and compliance services across a complex portfolio of high-value waste management contracts. The role will provide senior level technical expertise across waste management operations, environmental compliance and contract management, whilst supporting strategic service transformation and ensuring statutory obligations are met. The post holder will play a key role in maintaining service continuity, contractor performance, regulatory compliance and the delivery of environmental objectives across the organisation. This role is a temporary contract initially for 3 months with the possibility to extend. This role is remote working, but will require site visits so a driving license is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for contract management, compliance and commissioning functions within waste management services.
- Manage performance, workforce planning, recruitment, development, sickness absence and workload allocation across the team.
- Act as lead officer for the day-to-day management of waste treatment, disposal and household recycling centre contracts.
- Monitor contractor performance and compliance.
