Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Facilities Officer for our client, a government organisation in Barnet, London. This role is a temporary contract initially for 12 months with the possibility to extend. This role is fully onsite.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Complete daily/weekly/monthly Health & Safety inspections and maintain digital records.
- Monitor and report issues with fire, intruder, and panic alarms.
- Unlock/lock buildings, manage alarms, secure premises.
- Support building evacuations, fire drills, and act as a senior Fire Warden.
- Perform minor repairs (basic plumbing, carpentry, decoration, locks, shelving, AV installation).
- Replace lamps, tubes, starters.
- Conduct routine checks of meeting rooms and IT/AV equipment.
- After training: carry out PAT testing, water temperature checks, emergency lighting tests.
- Set up meeting and conference rooms.
- Provide portering services: deliveries, parcels, keys, furniture moves.
- Assist with emergency cleaning (e.g., spills, floods).
- Monitor car parks using ANPR systems.
- Provide professional support to staff, councillors, tenants, and visitors.
- Contribute to improving FM processes and policies.
Personal Requirements:
- Previous experience in a facilities management environment is desirable.
- Ability to travel on site 5 days per week.
- Relevant professional qualifications are desirable.
Working Hours: 36hrs / Monday - Friday
Pay: £140.13 per day
Note: this role is within the scope of IR35.
