Our client is a large local government organisation looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support to join their team.
Overview:
Experienced Infrastructure Engineer required to deliver a Windows Server upgrade programme across a hybrid estate (on-prem + Azure). Focus is on OS upgrades to Windows Server 2022/2025, primarily within Nutanix AHV, with some Azure-based work, alongside decommissioning of legacy systems. This is a hands-on Windows infrastructure role with expected involvement in design, delivery, and governance. While the primary focus is the upgrade programme, there may also be involvement in other infrastructure project work within the Windows platform domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Windows Server upgrades and migrations
- Interpret and implement solutions from HLDs / SoWs, contributing to LLD development and design decisions
- Participate in technical design governance, including engagement with the Technical Design Authority process where required
- Act as a technical stakeholder, providing input into design approach, risk, and implementation strategy
- Upgrade and manage workloads across: Nutanix AHV (primary platform), Azure IaaS
- Support decommissioning of legacy servers and platforms
- Ensure servers are securely configured, hardened, and fully up to date with patches
