Job Description

Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team. This is initially a 6 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant

You will

Resolve queries from internal customers providing information on complex processes and the related policies for all aspects of employee relations (including absence management, grievance, disciplinary, and performance management), escalating case work where appropriate to more senior colleagues.

Support manager with coaching of senior leaders, managers and members of Governing Board through management cases.

Pro-actively manage and deliver employee relations casework efficiently and effectively to ensure legislative and procedural compliance.

Review and update school’s policies and procedures in light of current legislation and best practice to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Create templates for managers to maintain a consistent approach to employee relations cases.

Provide on the job training, mentoring and guidance to managers / other HR staff to ensure they are able to develop the necessary skills to manage their role effectively.

Build effective working relationships within school to enable the delivery of high-quality professional services with guidance from senior colleagues.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with Trade Unions to resolve individual cases and deliver effective consultation on people related solutions. • Design and maintain systems to monitor and manage all aspects of Employee Relations cases, such as absence, leave and turnover.

May be required to assume the role of Investigating Officer as directed by supervisor to avoid conflict of interest.
