Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our client’s team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong capabilities in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems within an industrial environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position working a 12-hour Panama shift pattern (averaging 42 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and small engineering projects
- Maximise machine efficiency and minimise downtime
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
- Work with inverters, control panels, and industrial wiring systems
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reliability
- Respond promptly and effectively to breakdowns
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineering role (electrical and mechanical)
- PLC fault-finding and basic programming knowledge
- Engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. TPM)
- Ability to work at height (training/certification desirable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible and able to respond to changing operational demands
