Plant Financial Controller / Permanent / Norwich – £65,000 – £75,000 p/a
Position 1 Recruitment is looking for a Plant Financial Controller to join our client’s design and engineering manufacturing site based in Norwich.
Role Overview:
The Plant Financial Controller is a key management team member who reports to the Plant Manager. This role is crucial in managing financial health while supporting and enhancing operational efficiency to achieve cost control and profitability of the plant alongside production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Reporting:
- Developing and overseeing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conducting variance analysis to compare actual performance with budgeted figures, including cost centre expenses.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Financial Reporting:
- Preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establishing and maintaining robust internal control systems to safeguard assets.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Coordinating audits (internal and external) and implementing audit recommendations.
- Operational Support:
- Production Control:
Analyzing production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the manufacturing process. - Supply Chain and Purchase Control:
Evaluating the financial impact of supply chain decisions, such as sourcing materials from different suppliers or changing logistics partners. - Cost Reduction Initiatives:
Identifying areas where costs can be reduced without compromising quality or production capabilities. - Inventory Control:
Ensuring accurate inventory accounting and overseeing physical inventory counts. - Capex Control:
Assessing the financial viability of proposed capital projects, such as new equipment purchases or facility upgrades.
- Production Control:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Acting as a liaison between the finance department and other departments to ensure financial considerations are integrated into daily operational decisions.
Your Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- More than 8 years of working experience in manufacturing.
- ERP skills, i.e., SAP FI/CO.
