Senior / Principal Drainage & Infrastructure Engineer Location: Peterborough Salary: £40,000 - £65,000PA DOE Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role Position 1 Recruitment are working with a successful engineering consultancy, who are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Drainage & Infrastructure Engineer to join the team. Key Responsibilities * Lead and mentor project teams delivering drainage and infrastructure schemes from concept through to detailed design. * Prepare and review drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, highway designs, levels designs, calculations, drawings and specifications. * Manage projects and ensure schemes are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards. * Agree design principles and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle. * Prepare fee proposals and assist with project costings. * Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians. * Undertake occasional site inspections and provide technical support where required. * Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities and external consultants to coordinate projects effectively. * Ensure project information is accurate and delivered within agreed deadlines. About You * A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. * A minimum of 8 years' experience in drainage and infrastructure design. * Strong experience in drainage strategies, drainage design and infrastructure schemes. * Knowledge of S38, S278, S104, S106 and S185 agreements. * Experience with flood risk assessments and drainage strategies. * Practical experience integrating SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) into development projects. * Experience working on highway and private-development infrastructure schemes. * Knowledge of highway alignments, crossfalls and visibility splays to adoptable standards. * Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS and MicroDrainage/FLOW. * Ideally, you will be Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or another relevant professional institution.
