Position 1 Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to join our client’s innovative design and engineering manufacturing site based in Norwich. The QHSE Manager will be responsible for leading and continuously improving the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) management systems across the manufacturing facility, with a strong emphasis on quality assurance, customer satisfaction, process improvement and operational excellence. The QHSE Manager will champion a proactive quality culture throughout the business, driving compliance, continuous improvement and best practice across all operational areas.

Key Requirements:

  • Lead and maintain the company’s QHSE systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Drive a strong culture of quality, health & safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement across the site.
  • Manage internal/external audits, non-conformances, corrective actions and compliance reporting.
  • Investigate customer complaints, incidents and root causes, implementing effective CAPA processes.
  • Work closely with production, engineering and suppliers to improve product quality, processes and operational performance.
  • Monitor QHSE KPIs, analyse trends and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Deliver QHSE training, guidance and support to employees and management teams.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support sustainability initiatives, waste reduction and environmental performance improvements.

Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant QHSE certifications desirable (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH, Six Sigma, ISO 14001).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QHSE or Quality Management role within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience leading audits, CAPA processes, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and QHSE management systems.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
