Position 1 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Generator Engineer for our client manufacture site in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to advance their career while working with innovative products in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position. Monday to Friday. Overtime paid at 1.5x (weekdays). Weekend overtime paid at 2x. Offshore rate: £220/day (Mon–Fri). Weekend offshore rate: £340/day.
As a Generator Engineer you will be involved with hands-on covering installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of generator systems and associated equipment. Most work is UK-based, with occasional international project support.
You’ll need strong electrical expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments, including offshore and wind farm sites.
Key Responsibilities- Install, commission, service, and maintain generator systems and related equipment
- Perform electrical checks, loop checks, function tests, and site acceptance testing
- Support FATs and P&ID walkdowns
- Provide after-sales support, including inspections, technical advice, and spares guidance
- Complete work orders and technical documentation accurately
- Travel to onshore and offshore sites, including demanding environments
- Strong electrical background in installation, commissioning, and maintenance
- Able to read and mark up engineering drawings
- Willingness to travel offshore and work in challenging environments
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition)
- Experience with diesel and gas generator sets
- PLC programming experience
