Position 1 Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with a well-established engineering company in Fakenham to recruit a skilled and reliable Mechanical & Electrical Fitter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit, and test mechanical components and machinery
  • Carry out electrical assembly, wiring, and installation of control panels and systems
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering diagrams, and electrical schematics
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Carry out fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs on both mechanical and electrical components
  • Ensure all work meets required safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Support project builds and assist with customer installations when required

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Fitter, or Machinery Assembler
  • Ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Good knowledge of mechanical systems, including moving parts and bearings
  • Experience with electrical wiring, panel building, or control systems
  • Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds) would be advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
