Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer / Bury St Edmunds -Panama shift available - including day and night 6 till 6 Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) to join our client’s team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and experienced engineer with strong skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both industrial electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical production equipment
- Diagnose and resolve faults on PLCs, drives, motors, and control systems
- Maintain and repair conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Work with inverters, control panels, and industrial wiring systems
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Maintain accurate maintenance and fault records
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, promoting safe systems of work
- Provide flexibility for on-call duties when required
Requirements
- Qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Proven experience in heavy industrial maintenance (multi-skilled preferred)
- Strong knowledge of PLC fault finding (basic programming desirable)
- Strong knowledge of inverters and drives
- Strong knowledge of motors and control systems
- Strong knowledge of industrial wiring and control panels
- Strong knowledge of conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Strong knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
- Good understanding of Health & Safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), Safe Isolation, Permit to Work systems, Working at Height, Confined Space awareness, ATEX/DSEAR (desirable)
