Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to lead projects and mentor a team of engineers in the UK and India. You will support complex heater design projects, provide technical authority, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for clients.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and appraisals
- Approve drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
- Take ownership of engineering calculations, material selection, and design analysis
- Act as technical authority internally and with clients
- Contribute to product improvements and new design solutions
- Ensure engineering best practices and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For:
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex mechanical designs
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor; knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD desirable
- Experience with engineering standards, product certification, and documentation
