We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Fund Accounting Team with a focus on fund and fixed asset accounting. This role supports key month-end close activities, maintains accurate reconciliations, manages fixed and prepaid assets, and ensures compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accrual accounting, excellent attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This position is hybrid and will be located in one of our Centers of Excellence: New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Execute month-end and quarter-end close activities accurately and timely using Sage Intacct ERP.
  • Maintain and reconcile prepaid asset schedules and related journal entries.
  • Own fixed asset accounting, including recording additions, transfers, and disposals of non-solar assets.
  • Review asset entries for accuracy and validate monthly depreciation expense calculations.
  • Prepare and maintain intercompany accounting schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain fixed asset roll-forward schedules by legal entity.
  • Provide documentation and support for external audits and internal inquiries related to fixed assets and other key accounts.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and ongoing refinement of SOPs for owned processes.
  • Conduct periodic spot audits to assess effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Support the preparation of monthly internal financial reports and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA designation preferred, but not required.
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience in fixed asset accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles, GAAP compliance, and internal control standards.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Google Workspace preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, teamwork, and a proactive mindset.
