We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant – Reporting to join our Accounting team. This role will be primarily responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements, internal and external financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, is analytical, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, hands-on experience with financial reporting, and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset. This position is hybrid and will be located in one of our Centers of Excellence: New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Consolidate financial data from multiple business units or subsidiaries, including eliminating entries.
  • Prepare flux analysis, analyze variances and trends in financial data to provide insights and commentary.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages for management.
  • Support external financial reporting and compliance deliverables, including year-end audit schedules and statutory audit requests.
  • Assist in maintaining an equity rollforward at multiple entity and consolidation levels.
  • Maintain and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Managers to identify and implement improvements to processes, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Perform periodic spot audits to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal control activities.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and reporting requests as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a strong foundation in financial reporting

Solid understanding of GAAP, including fixed assets, revenue recognition, and consolidation principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Google Workspace preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP systems a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented and accuracy-driven mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • A critical thinker who is proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

  • Occasionally, the role may require sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.
