What You’ll Be Doing
- Engineering Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor, coach, and support Manufacturing Engineers and operations teams
- Lead process improvement reviews and drive right-first-time outcomes
- Enhance engineering workflows to maximise efficiency and performance
- Production & Process Excellence
- Ensure manufacturing readiness across all product lines
- Design and implement tooling solutions to reduce downtime
- Optimise processes through DOE, PFMEA, SPC, and data-driven analysis
- Act as the technical expert with suppliers and stakeholders
- New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Champion Design for Manufacture (DfM) across all new products
- Collaborate closely with Design Engineering to deliver robust solutions
- Develop effective testing strategies to ensure quality is built in
- Support prototype development and design reviews
- Lead data-driven improvement initiatives across cost, quality, and delivery
- Drive yield optimisation and cycle time reduction
- Lead Kaizen activities and capital investment planning
- Safety & Compliance
- Promote and lead a strong safety-first culture
- Lead HSE investigations and support risk assessments
- Ensure compliance across all tooling, equipment, and processes
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering
- Experience within aerospace or high-mix, low-volume environments
- Strong expertise in:
- CAD & GD&T
- FMEA / 8D problem solving
- Metal fabrication and surface treatments
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring capability
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
- Experience working within AS9100 environments
- Lean / Six Sigma knowledge
- SAP / ERP system experience
- CNC or machining background
