Porvair Filtration Group Segensworth, Fareham - Onsite Up To £45k Based On Experience
Main function of job: Develop and apply procurement skills to establish and maintain a high performing supply chain into Porvair. Sourcing, price negotiations, order/schedule placement and progressing for supply of material, component parts and services. Ensuring on time delivery and world class quality and compliance to standards. Collaborating with Design Engineering to ensure that continuity of supply and product specifications remain aligned for new and existing products.
Main Duties And Responsibilities:
- Establishing and developing suppliers for mechanical components, subcontract processing and materials.
- Technical and delivery performance management of suppliers.
- Evaluating new and potential suppliers.
- Obtaining/negotiating pricing, to meet expectations and budget.
- The raising of Purchase orders, ensuring price, delivery, technical, quality and commercial specifications are correctly defined.
- Raising of works orders for sub-contracted processes.
- Monitor supplier performance ensuring supplier quality/delivery matrixes are met.
- New Product Development support such as design-for-manufacturing.
- Facilitate effective communications between internal and external stakeholders.
- Formation of Long-term agreements to manage business relationships.
Essential Qualifications:
- CIPS / APICS or relevant supply chain qualification.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Mechanical and materials technical qualifications or apprenticeship.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Ability to read technical drawings would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of materials and surface treatment specifications, particularly metals.
- Working experience of ERP / MRP systems.
- Negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Competent in MSOffice applications.
Experience Required:
- Mechanical component/machining engineering background.
- Aerospace background/knowledge preferred.
- Management of projects and operating within a project team.
- Application of contractual terms and clauses desirable.
Personal Skills Required:
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work, excellent problem solving skills.
- Able to assimilate new knowledge effectively.
