About the Role

Are you a commercially minded procurement professional who thrives on building strong supplier relationships and delivering results? Join us and play a vital role in developing and maintaining a high-performing global supply chain. From strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations to ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and compliance, you’ll directly influence operational success. Working closely with Design Engineering and cross-functional teams, you’ll help secure continuity of supply, support new product introductions, and drive value across the business through effective supplier management and procurement excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Establishing and developing suppliers for mechanical components, subcontract processing and materials
  • Technical and delivery performance management of suppliers
  • Evaluating new and potential suppliers
  • Obtaining/negotiating pricing, to meet expectations and budget
  • The raising of Purchase orders, ensuring price, delivery, technical, quality and commercial specifications are correctly defined
  • Raising of works orders for sub-contracted processes
  • Monitor supplier performance ensuring supplier quality/delivery matrixes are met
  • New Product Development support such as design-for-manufacturing
  • Facilitate effective communications between internal and external stakeholders
  • Formation of Long-term agreements to manage business relationships

What We’re Looking For

  • CIPS / APICS or relevant supply chain qualification
  • Ability to read technical drawings would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of materials and surface treatment specifications, particularly metals
  • Working experience of ERP / MRP systems
  • Negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Competent in MSOffice applications
    Desirable
  • Mechanical and materials technical qualifications or apprenticeship
  • Mechanical component/machining engineering background
  • Aerospace background/knowledge preferred
  • Management of projects and operating within a project team
  • Application of contractual terms and clauses desirable

  • Able to assimilate new knowledge effectively
  • Ability to apply “Best Practice” within the procurement role
  • Individual to be tenacious and motivated
  • Organised - able to drive tasks and projects to achieve deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance
