PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE, is currently seeking applications for the position of EDI Integration Lead based in Thurnscoe preferably or Westport. Founded in 1904, Portwest has become one of the fastest-growing workwear companies in the world, currently employing over 5,100 staff worldwide. With 1400 styles across more than 20 ranges, we design, manufacture and distribute market-leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities.
Job Summary
Own EDI and API integrations that connect Portwest systems with trading partners and internal platforms. Cross-functional coordination with ERP, commercial, and external partners, standardise workflows, and deliver reliable data exchange across ERP, CRM, and the website. Be accountable for system reliability and data quality. Will manage a new MuleSoft specialist and work closely with senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- EDI Strategy and Integration
- Define and lead the development and execution of the company’s EDI strategy, aligning with business needs and industry standards.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable EDI solutions to support the integration of new partners, customers, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess current processes and recommend improvements via EDI implementations.
- Consolidate integration tools and establish a centralised integration platform and governance model.
- Manage EDI projects from initiation to delivery, including requirements gathering, timeline planning, development, testing, and deployment.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all EDI-related activities and lead project coordination across departments and trading partners.
- Maintain and document all EDI processes, including standards, policies, and procedures.
- Integration Development & Support
- Design, develop, and configure EDI interfaces, mappings, and transactions (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML).
- Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transactions to ensure timely and accurate data exchanges.
- Own operational stability of EDI and API integrations, including monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years in EDI or systems integration with project coordination responsibility.
- Strong hands-on EDI experience with ANSI X12 and EDIFACT, including transaction sets such as 850, 810, 856, and 997.
- Proven experience with EDI transaction sets, communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, FTP), and mapping tools.
- Hands-on MuleSoft and API integration experience.
- ERP integration experience; Infor M3 preferred. Salesforce familiarity is a plus.
- Clear communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with Icore and other integration platforms.
- Release management and integration governance.
- Building reusable message standards and API libraries.
- Experience working with high-volume or business-critical integrations.
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environments.
