Who Are We:
PortSwigger is a company built around a simple belief: security should empower people, not slow them down. We create worldâclass tooling that helps security teams and developers uncover and fix real vulnerabilities, the kind that actually matter. Our products are crafted with care, backed by deep research, and shaped by a relentless drive to make the web safer for everyone. We're a successful, engineeringâled organisation where small squads are empowered to take forward work in a suitable way, with highâleverage work. Curiosity fuels us, craftsmanship defines us, and mutual support keeps us growing together. Here, you'll be empowered to make decisions and collaborate effectively, have clear direction, and the freedom to push boundaries, supported by thoughtful coaching and a culture that values learning as much as delivery.
The Culture Tribe:
The Culture tribe looks after people and the ways we work, you will have clear responsibility within the endâtoâend people experience from Talent Acquisition and Onboarding to Swigger Success Champions and broader people programmes. Our mission is to create the conditions for everyone to do their best work: coaching leaders, running development and growth programmes, and stewarding the behaviours, rituals and ways of working that make PortSwigger special. We partner with tribes across the business to embed these behaviours and help people thrive every day.
The Mission
We're looking for a Culture Champion to research, run, and continuously improve the people and culture initiatives that shape how PortSwigger works as we grow. You'll be working as part of a forwardâthinking, highâgrowth tech company on real culture problems â combining researchâinformed thinking, data fluency, and handsâon delivery. This is not a supportive role: you'll have the opportunity to stay close to and eventually lead on initiatives endâtoâend, identify what isn't working, and improve our culture practices over time.
The Challenge
We're looking for a Culture Champion to help a thriving scaleâup business to nurture its culture as it grows. You'll be joining at a time when PortSwigger is growing steadily and intentionally. The challenge is to help ensure our culture scales with quality, not just speed. In practice, this means taking an evidenceâbased approach to culture decisions, improving how we gather, interpret, and act on people data, and designing interventions that are thoughtful, testable, and iterated over time â rather than oneâoff initiatives.
Your Impact
- Research & design: Researching, designing, and iterating on people and culture initiatives (e.g. onboarding, feedback, development, hiring), approaching culture questions analytically and questioning underlying assumptions before proposing solutions.
- Data gathering & insight: Running surveys, focus groups, and other dataâgathering methods, analysing results to surface insights and recommendations.
- Data-informed decisionâmaking: Using data to inform decisions, test assumptions, and measure impact over time.
- Hiring & onboarding: Collaborating on optimising pipelines and onboarding, helping ensure fair, highâquality experiences.
- Evidenceâbased assessment: Applying an evidenceâbased approach to test for aptitude, personality, and behavioural attributes that help employees to thrive in our collaborative culture.
- Swigger support: Acting as a trusted point of contact for Swiggers, signposting support and resources.
- Continuous improvement: Working closely with other Culture Champions and leaders to continuously improve how we work, using research, experimentation, and shared learning.
- AIâaugmented thinking: Use AI to support problem framing, and analysis across culture initiatives such as onboarding, feedback, development, and hiring practices.
What Will You Bring
Essential
- Academic foundation: You've recently finished, or are about to finish, your Masters or PhD degree in a peopleârelated course (for example, but not limited to Organisational Psychology / Business Psychology / People Analytics / Social Sciences / Behavioural Economics) and are looking for a role that will allow you to use your knowledge in creative and innovative ways.
- Analytical thinking: You are analytical and apply this type of thinking to people or cultureârelated problems.
- Data orientation: You are a data nerd. You use dataâdriven insights to inform decisions.
- Accountability & delivery: You like taking accountability of things. You have evidence of taking responsibility amongst projects, initiatives, or work driven endâtoâend.
- Intellectual curiosity: You have curiosity, rigour, and a desire to improve systems.
- AI curiosity: AI excites you. You can approach cultureârelated problems through the lens of how AI can support insight, problem framing, and improvement.
- Problem solving geek: You can break complex problems into core elements and use an analytical, dataâinformed approach to test and refine solutions.
- Conscientious: You are selfâaware. You love to bring intention and care to how work is approached and delivered.
- Organisation: Your ability to manage priorities effectively, staying organised, and adapting plans as new important or urgent tasks appear stands out.
- Collaboration: You appreciate a collaborative approach to building strong working relationships, sharing work early, welcoming feedback, and delivering value through small, iterative improvements.
Desirable
- Agile working. You have knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies.
- Exposure to coaching, facilitation, or development work.
Why PortSwigger
