We’re making a difference: Together, we can ensure that there is enough water for everyone, now and in the future. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Non-Infrastructure team, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of allocated projects from start to finish. You will play a key role in advancing resilience and asset-related initiatives, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard, on schedule, within budget, and in line with our investment plan and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for multiple projects to be delivered to specification and budget, whilst working to deadlines, ensuring the quality meets the expectations of key stakeholders.
- Planning, design and construction of Capital (and Revenue) projects associated with maintenance, refurbishment and extension of the treatment and distribution networks.
- Applying APMP methodology, developing viable programs, coordinating a range of functions to deliver projects from start to finish, including estimating, scheduling, procurement, design, site construction / installation, commissioning and operations handover, and effectively using internal and external resources.
- Ensuring key milestones and projects are delivered on time.
- Managing risks proactively in accordance with CDM regulations.
- Ensuring project quality meets the specification and managing Portsmouth Water’s spend with third parties.
- Working with stakeholders to promote effective contract management, ensuring Portsmouth Water’s processes and procedures are adhered to and all works are executed with minimum impact to the water supply.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, designers, subcontractors, site supervisors and end-users / operators to ensure work progresses according to plans and all requirements are met.
- Preparing / reviewing contracts and subcontracts to ensure technical requirements are satisfied and commercial risks are acceptable.
- Involvement in the procurement process, ensuring contractors are selected based on overall competency and scheme-specific competency.
- Contract management using CEMAR.
- Regularly reporting internally and externally on project delivery progress, risks and mitigations, tailoring communications to suit the audience.
