Portsmouth Water is delighted to have an opening for an Asset and Procurement Assistant to join our highly regarded Production Department. Working specifically in the Production Technical function, the Asset and Procurement Assistant will provide support to ensure operations run safely, efficiently and economically by administering the function’s inventory of existing and new plant assets within the works assets management system. We are looking for someone who is willing to develop and learn within this role – you will be given the opportunity to undertake a Business Administration qualification, which will be fully funded by the company.
What will you be doing? Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Asset and Procurement Administrators with their core duties
- Provide asset inventory and procurement services to the Production Technical and Operations teams
- Procurement of spares for planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Procurement of chemicals and consumables
- Manage the asset database to ensure asset information is correct and relevant
- Ensure the correct Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are assigned to planned work orders
- Procure alternative parts and equipment for legacy and obsolete systems
- Register new assets and update asset database to ensure asset data is correct
- Raise Purchase Orders, tracking the progress and ensuring accuracy across systems
- Ensure supplier costs on IFS database are up to date and accurate
- Regular review of stock levels in the function of varying demand, including consignment stocks
- Participate in stock takes as required
- Control safety equipment issue processes

The successful applicant will be required to have a full UK manual car driving licence (Class B), will have to undergo a driving assessment, consent to ongoing driving licence checks and additionally any other safety measures deemed necessary by Portsmouth Water Ltd in connection with driving.
