The predicted salary is between 25101 - 26473 £ per year.

Salary: Band 4, £25,201 - £26,473 pa, (£22,136 - £23,253 for 32.5 hours, £19,922 - £20,927 for 29.25 hours) plus a 17% shift allowance if applicable.

2 x posts available: 1 x 29.25 hours per week, 1 x 32.5 hours per week. Please indicate on your application which post you are applying for.

Rotas typically are a mixture of:

  • Early shift - 07:30 - 14:30
  • Late shift - 14:30 - 21:30

Shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break. Sunday and bank holiday working apply.

Responsibilities

  • Using a person-centred approach, look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of service users.
  • Provide personal care, assist clients at mealtimes and support all aspects of daily living.
  • Provide person-centred care through social activities that promote mental health, wellbeing and quality of life.
  • Act as a key worker for specific service users, monitor and record information about health and wellbeing using electronic care planning (Nourish) and communicate concerns to team leaders.
  • Support a diverse group of service users with a wide range of care needs, including challenging behaviour; undertake moving and handling duties as required.
  • Light food preparation and light cleaning tasks to maintain a clean environment in line with infection control guidance.

Qualifications

  • Patience and empathy with an understanding of needs of people with dementia and physical disabilities.
  • Ability to converse with service users with cognitive impairment and provide clear, accurate spoken English.
  • Experience in a caring role (formal paid or unpaid) with understanding of resident dignity, privacy and choice in practice.
  • Flexibility and adaptability; ability to work in a team and independently; use initiative and make decisions in emergencies.
  • Computer skills to update care plans electronically and to use e-learning.
  • Willingness to participate in training and development, work towards QCF level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Social Care and complete the Care Certificate within probation.
