The Transport Planning Team is looking to recruit a Technical Transport Planner to support delivery of our residents' parking programme. As a Technical Transport Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the provision of advice on transport planning issues, contribute to the development of transport policy and strategy, deliver solutions to varied and complex parking issues, and engage and consult with councillors, community groups and residents.
You will be a proactive and organised individual with a relevant degree in transport planning, geography or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. You will have strong analytical skills, be confident interpreting data, and understand the social and environmental impacts of transport. You will be an effective communicator with excellent report-writing skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Able to manage competing priorities and work independently, you will bring strong project coordination skills, a problem-solving mindset and a passion for helping shape sustainable transport improvements across Portsmouth.

We offer hybrid working with the expectation to attend the office minimum 2 days a week (pro rata for part time), this remains flexible, depending on the role and subject to business needs. We are not able to offer sponsorship for this position.
