The Suspension Team is a newly expanded and vital service within Portsmouth City Council, supporting residents and businesses across the city. We are a friendly, supportive, and welcoming team committed to delivering an excellent customer experience by putting people at the heart of everything we do. As a Suspension Officer, you will work within the Suspension Team and report to the Suspension Supervisor. You will be responsible for issuing and processing suspension requests, organising quotations, and responding to customer enquiries across a range of channels—including face‑to‑face, email and telephone. This is a varied role, split between office-based administrative work and on‑street activity. Each day you will spend several hours driving a PCC service vehicle to install and remove suspension signage around the city. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- You’ll have experience in administration and customer service, with a strong customer‑focused approach to your work.
- You’ll be confident using Microsoft applications, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to communicate clearly—both in writing and verbally.
- We’re looking for someone who can solve problems effectively, manage their workload independently, and work accurately under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
