We are recruiting an organised and motivated Young Futures Partnership Prevention Panel Co‑ordinator to play a key role in preventing children and young people from being drawn into crime or anti‑social behaviour. This is a part time role working 18.5 hours per week (may include occasional evenings, Saturdays and Bank Holidays). The contract is Fixed‑term / secondment until 31 March 2027 (subject to funding).

Based within Portsmouth Youth Justice Services (PYJS), this is a high‑impact partnership role that sits at the heart of our prevention work. You will co‑ordinate and co‑chair a multi‑agency Prevention Panel, bringing together partners from across statutory, voluntary and community organisations to make informed, child‑centred decisions that support positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Co‑ordinate and co‑chair the multi‑agency Young Futures Partnership Prevention Panel
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners, funders and stakeholders
  • Promote and support referral pathways into the Panel, ensuring agreed criteria are met
  • Receive and screen referrals, gather information and oversee consent processes
  • Set Panel agendas and track progress through reviews, completion or closure
  • Develop pathways out of Panel, supporting access to appropriate services and interventions

Full training, induction and ongoing supervision will be provided.

The ideal candidate

  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. probation, social work, education or health), with registration where required
  • Has post‑qualifying experience working directly with children vulnerable to involvement in crime or anti‑social behaviour
  • Has experience of supervision or line management, or is confident undertaking this responsibility
  • Understands the causes of youth crime and evidence‑based approaches to prevention
  • Can work confidently with partners across different organisations and sectors
  • Applies a restorative, relational and trauma‑informed approach in practice
  • Is highly organised, able to manage data, reporting and deadlines effectively
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with children, families and partner agencies
