Welcome to Portsdown Primary School - a warm, inclusive, and vibrant community where children are truly at the heart of everything we do. Nestled on the Portsmouth and Hampshire border, right next to QA Hospital, our school is a place where every child is supported to thrive.
The role is for 28.75 hours per week term time, Monday to Friday 8.40am - 3.25pm with an actual annual salary of £16,710 (Full time equivalent £24,796). The position is initially a fixed term contract until the end of December 2026 but with a strong possibility of an extension at the end of this period.
We will consider individuals who have not worked in a school before but hold the relevant qualifications and skills detailed below. The successful applicant should have excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills and relevant qualifications i.e., Minimum Grades A-C at GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
If you have excellent interpersonal skills, are approachable, calm, patient and understanding and have the ability to form lasting relationships then you are what we are looking for. The children at Portsdown are the best set of children in Portsmouth!
