Are you passionate about creating a greener, cleaner and safer city? We are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to lead the development and coordination of transport feasibility studies, helping to shape and deliver projects that support Portsmouth's Local Transport Plan objectives.
Your new role:
As a Senior Transport Planner within the Transport Delivery Team, you will undertake feasibility activities for transport schemes, supporting the development of projects that improve sustainable transport, public health and air quality across the city. You will ensure schemes are progressed from concept through to delivery by providing technical input, evidence and recommendations to support the coordination and management of the overall feasibility process.
Working closely with the Feasibility Programme Manager, colleagues and external partners, you will lead on the technical development, appraisal and assessment of transport schemes, prepare reports and briefing papers, and ensure that transport projects meet all relevant strategic, legal and regulatory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of Portsmouth's transport network and make a lasting impact on residents and visitors alike.
Who is the person:
You will be a proactive and experienced transport professional with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience, you will have experience of developing transport schemes and delivering projects in a complex environment. You will be a confident communicator, capable of presenting technical information clearly to a wide range of audiences, building strong partnerships and finding innovative solutions to transport challenges.

- Relevant degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.

- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience of financial and budget management.
