We are looking for a Project Worker to deliver engaging community activities that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and support independence for Portsmouth residents.

The role is responsible for independently delivering a range of community activities and wellbeing sessions in line with agreed plans, ensuring they are safely and effectively run through appropriate preparation, set-up, and adherence to procedures. It involves engaging residents in a supportive and inclusive way, encouraging participation, adapting activities to meet varied needs, and gathering feedback to inform support, while signposting where appropriate. The postholder supports partnership working by maintaining communication with community organisations, colleagues, and stakeholders, sharing updates and contributing to coordinated delivery. They also play a key role in recording accurate attendance and outcome data, supporting monitoring and reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with data protection standards. In addition, the role includes supporting volunteers involved in sessions, providing guidance and escalating any issues, while maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding, health and safety, and participant welfare throughout all activities.

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable individual with a strong background in delivering community activities and engaging with diverse groups, including vulnerable and marginalised people. They will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and practical skills to support a range of activities, alongside a commitment to co-productive, strength-based approaches. It is important they can work independently while following procedures, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements, with good IT skills and experience contributing to reporting. The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of health inequalities and social isolation, experience supporting volunteers, and the ability to work flexibly across indoor and outdoor settings, travel locally, and meet the physical and emotional demands of the role. Please note you will need a driving license and access to a car.
