Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE): Band: 8, £37,562 p.a.

Qualified Social Worker: Band: 9, £40,443 - £44,252 p.a.

Based within the Adult Care and Support team you will work with adults in need of care and support and their carers, identifying their needs, prioritizing service users, and creating an assessment of their needs and support plans. Working with information gained directly from them, you will identify the best resources to assist with their needs, calling on other resources where required. You will manage your own caseload, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively while attending regular supervision and team meetings. For the Band 9 role, you will have completed your ASYE.

A key part of the role is safeguarding adults with care needs, ensuring practice complies with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. You will also contribute to service development and projects, and maintain your professional development in line with Social Work England requirements.

Who is the person summary:

You will have a qualification in social work and be registered with Social Work England. You must have completed your ASYE for the Band 9 role. You will have knowledge of adult social care eligibility criteria and a thorough understanding of adult social care legislation. You will be a good communicator with the ability to converse with a diverse range of people, sometimes under challenging circumstances. You will possess robust and comprehensive skills in risk management with a confident ability in assessing, planning, and recording sensitive information and data. The role requires skills in flexibility and negotiation and the ability to manage a caseload effectively and efficiently. For the Band 9 role, you will have experience of supervising staff as well as working in a multidisciplinary team.
