We have a vacancy for a motivated and organised Marketing Communications Administrative Assistant to join our marketing and corporate communications team. This is a 1 Year Fixed term contract to cover maternity and will start in July 2026.
About the Role
Reporting to a senior member of the marketing communications team, the post holder will provide a combination of administrative and entry level communications support to the council's corporate communications service. The role includes providing basic communications support, such as building and distributing email bulletins, drafting straightforward web pages, articles and news releases, and updating content online. The post holder will also help schedule and monitor social media posts across a range of platforms, supporting the team's digital communications activity. The role will involve assisting with campaign delivery and evaluation by helping to track activity, distribute publications and provide administrative support for marketing initiatives. Responsibilities will also include booking print and advertising, raising and processing invoices, and ensuring materials are distributed accurately and on time.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Has a marketing, media or PR related qualification, or experience working in a related environment
- Can demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Has solid administrative experience, including minute taking and spreadsheet management
- Is highly IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Is confident using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube and LinkedIn
- Is well organised, able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
- Is confident dealing with a range of internal and external customers
- Is enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn
Hybrid Working: Minimum of 2 days in the office.
