Job Purpose: To enable pupils’ access to learning by supervising and assisting pupils (one to one and in small groups) across a wide range of activities and supported learning activities. To promote the development of the physical and mental well-being of pupils as directed by a teacher.
Key Accountabilities:

- To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets.

Principal Responsibilities/Duties:
- To assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans and learning outcomes.
- To supervise individual or small groups of pupils undertaking teacher-led activities.
- To assist pupils to develop their independence through undertaking tasks.
- To support the use of IT as a tool to enable learning.
- To ensure that pupils work and play together positively and cooperatively, with good behaviour.
Job Requirements:
- 4+ or grade C or above in English or maths.
- Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent qualification.
- Considerable, proven experience of working with children.
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues, parents, carers, and children.
- Ability to work independently using own initiative.
