We have a strong leadership team and dedicated teaching and support staff. We are seeking a like-minded inclusion leader to complete our team. We invite applicants with a proven track record of strong teaching and leadership, who can manage effectively, lead by example, and work with all staff to further develop inclusion and remove barriers to learning for pupils.

Main responsibilities:

  • To promote excellence in learning, assessment and first quality teaching for pupils who are vulnerable or have SEND.
  • To line manage the Teaching Assistants and the Pastoral Team.
  • To work directly with children and teachers to develop and support SEND in daily practice.
  • To lead the inclusion team in their role within school and oversee the school’s additional provision for pupils within St Jude’s School.
  • To be part of the safeguarding team as a DSL.

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Has an excellent working knowledge of SEND and best practice within inclusion.
  • Has high expectations and is committed to improvement.
  • Is able to develop positive working relationships with all members of the school team.
  • Can build effective relationships with parents.
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with secure and up to date knowledge of SEND.
  • Is able to bring innovation, creativity and new ideas and perspectives.
  • Is able to lead across the primary age-range.
  • Is resilient, highly motivated and well organised.
  • Has high levels of communication skills.
  • Will uphold and support the vision and values of a Church of England School.

We can offer you:

  • Children who are polite, ready to learn and willing to take risks.
  • Families who are supportive of the school and their children.
  • A committed and dedicated SLT to work alongside.
  • Experienced and committed colleagues who work collaboratively.
  • A supportive and engaged governing body.
  • Professional development opportunities both within Portsmouth LEA and the Diocese of Portsmouth.
  • An opportunity to grow and develop in your role.
  • Well thought-out and considered CPD.
