St George’s Beneficial and the Quay is a friendly community school where every child is valued. We are located in the heart of Portsea and support 300 children from Reception through to year 6 who are all from diverse backgrounds.
This year we opened The Quay, our amazing Inclusion Centre for children across the city with cognition and learning needs. To support the pupil’s, we are seeking to appoint a motivated Education Health Care Teaching Assistant, to work with a child who has medical needs. The start date for this position is as soon as possible and we encourage early application.
You must be caring, flexible and willing to work in partnership with staff in order to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all pupils.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous experience of working in a school or supporting children’s learning and development
- Have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C and above or equivalent (preferred)
- Hold a first aid qualification or be prepared to attend training.
- Engage and participate in training for medical needs including Intimate Care and be willing to support individuals medically.
- A team player who is also able to work individually.
- Have a firm commitment to providing the very best outcomes for our pupils.
- Have an excellent attendance record
Salary: pay band 4 point 4-6 7.5 hours plus band 2 Lunch Time Supervisor across the main and inclusion site 7.5 hours (15 hours total with view to increase)
Term time only (39 weeks per annum) fixed term until August 2027 with the potential of an extension
