We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience, initiative and patience, alongside excellent time management skills. They will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and will be confident working with children.
The successful candidate will have:
- Competence in the use of office-based ICT programmes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A clear understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Previous experience of working in a busy office environment
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure
- An understanding of statutory requirements relating to safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety
- A willingness to undertake first aid training and act as a designated first aider
The role will include:
- Answering and directing telephone enquiries in a professional manner
- Greeting all visitors to the school, checking relevant DBS documentation and notifying the appropriate member of staff of their arrival
- Monitoring the school's general email account, responding to enquiries where appropriate and forwarding messages to the relevant person
- Providing administrative support to the school, including photocopying, filing and general office duties
- Receiving, sorting and distributing post and deliveries
